Picture (song)

"Picture" is a song by American singer Kid Rock, recorded with Sheryl Crow. The song is taken from Kid Rock's album Cocky. It was released as a single by Kid Rock featuring Allison Moorer on November 12, 2002. It was the first song for the artists to be nominated for Vocal Event of The Year at the 2003 Country Music Association awards.

Song information

Kid Rock's label, Atlantic Records, was unable to obtain permission from Crow's label, A&M Records, to release the original version as a single. Therefore Atlantic Records decided to rework the song with country singer Allison Moorer (coincidentally signed to A&M's sister label Universal South Records) instead. Moorer re-recorded Crow’s vocals for the commercial release. The CD single featuring Moorer was released commercially in the US as a single on 12 November 2002.

Even though Atlantic Records was unable to obtain rights to release Crow's version as a single, mainstream, rock/alternative, and some country radio stations disregarded this and played the original version featuring Crow, while other country music radio stations played the radio edit featuring Allison Moorer instead. Because of this, Billboard credited the song on the charts as Kid Rock featuring Sheryl Crow or Allison Moorer.

Picture (string theory)

In superstring theory, each state may be represented in many ways, depending on how the ground state is defined. Each representation is called a picture, and is denoted by a number, such as 0 picture or −1 picture.

The difference between the ground states is according to the action of the superghosts oscillators on them, and the number of the picture (plus 1/2) reflects the highest superghost oscillator which does not annihilate the ground state.

Chelsea (UK Parliament constituency)

Chelsea was a borough constituency, represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

The constituency was created by the Reform Act 1867 for the 1868 general election, when it returned two Members of Parliament (MPs), elected by the bloc vote system of election.

Under the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, with effect from the 1885 general election, its representation was reduced to one MP, elected by the first past the post system.

Chelsea (after the local government changes in 1965) is a district of Inner London, comprising for administrative purposes the southern part of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Its southern boundary is on the north bank of the River Thames. It adjoins Westminster to the east, Fulham to the west and Kensington to the north.

Before 1868 the area was represented in Parliament as part of the county constituency of Middlesex.

With the expansion westwards of the urban area around Westminster, the former village of Chelsea and neighbouring areas had by 1868 developed enough to be made a Parliamentary borough and given two seats in the House of Commons. The parliamentary borough comprised four civil parishes: Chelsea, Fulham, Hammersmith and Kensington.

Chelsea was a small American, twice-a-year literary magazine based in New York City. The influential journal, edited for many years by Sonia Raiziss, published poetry, prose, book reviews and translations with an emphasis on translations, art, and cross-cultural exchange.

History

In 1958, The magazine was co-founded by Ursule Molinaro, Venable Herndon, George Economou, Robert Kelly & Joan Kelly. Later, Sonia Raiziss was an editor. It published poems and prose by Denise Levertov,Umberto Eco, Raymond Carver, and Grace Paley. Writers such as W. S. Merwin, Sylvia Plath, A. R. Ammons and Paul Auster were published in the magazine when they were still emerging. the first short story by Kenzaburo Oe, who was awarded the 1994 Nobel Prize for Literature. Two entire issues (1976 and 2000) were devoted to the work of Laura (Riding) Jackson.

The journal has published both new and emerging writers, some of whom have received awards or had their work in the magazine subsequently published in the Pushcart Prize, The Best American Poetry series, the O. Henry Awards and others.
